Lipectomy
Lipectomy or abdominoplasty, is a surgery indicated for patients without excess weight who need to remove skin from the abdomen that has been compromised by scars, pregnancy stretch marks, or recent weight loss. Also indicated for patients with separated abdominal muscles, repairing them by means of mesh and/or special sutures.

An incision is made at the bikini line, lifting away the skin and fat layers to expose and repair the muscles, flattening the abdomen .Excess skin below the bellybutton is removed and closed with sutures. Requires 4 to 5 day of hospitalization and the patient will receive a Hyperbaric Oxygen treatment daily, which will help in the healing process and reduce swelling, in general it reduces recovery time in half. The surgery is performed with anesthesia from the waist down, and lasts approximately 3 hours.

The patient will be released with only dressings in the treated area, and will be fitted with a support garment approximately one week post-op to help the swelling disappear faster. About three weeks are needed for recovery.
